Kunming Lhasa Kunming Flight

Kunming launched its first direct flight to Lhasa on July 8, 2005 via China Eastern Airlines, which is the 3rd airlines operating flights in Tibet after Air China and China Southern Airlines. Kunming Lhasa flights will operate daily, with Boeing B737-700 airliners, leaving Kunming in the early morning, and return to Kunming in the early afternoon. The flights between Kunming and Lhasa will strengthen the ties between the two regions and add more options for travelers who want to extend their tours to either region.

Lhasa Gonggar Airport (LXA) is Tibet's gateway to the outside world. First put into operation in 1965, it is located in Shannan Region, about 98km (61 miles) south of Lhasa. Standing more than 3600 meters above sea level makes Lhasa Gonggar Airport one of the highest airports in the world.
