Namtso Lake, the second largest saltwater lake in Tibet, is 250km northwest of Lhasa city. Namtso Lake is about over 70km long, reaches a width of 30km and is 35m at its deepest point. It is one of the three Holy Lakes in Tibet. The Nyenchen Tangula Range with peaks of more than 7000m towers over the lake. When the ice melts in late April, the Namtso Lake is a miraculous shade of turquoise and there are magnificent views of the nearby mountains. Arrive at Gangar Airport or Lhasa Railway Station. Pick up and drive to Lhasa City. Hotel check in.
Day 02 Lhasa(B)
You will be gathered by your local Tibetan guide from your hotel on the appointed time, and get seated in the bus shared with other tourists. In your first day of sightseeing on this high land, you will be taken to visit Potola Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkor Street. The stunning Potala Palace, built in 637 AD by Songtsen Gampo, was the former winter residence for the Dalai Lamas. Jokhang Temple built in 7th century and located at the heart of old town in Lhasa, is the center of Tibetan Buddhism. The circuit around it called Barkhor street, which is a good place to purchase souvenirs.
Day 03 Lhasa(B)Today you will visit Sera Monastery, famous for its Buddhism philosophical debate practice. Then, you will head to Norbulinka Palace, the beautiful Tibetan style garden.
Day 04 Lhasa / Namtso Lake / Lhasa(B)
Day tour to Namtso Lake via Yangpachen hot-spring. Namtso Lake is one of the three most holy lakes in Tibet, also the highest salt lake. Afternoon drive back to Lhasa, you will be arranged to visit a Tibetan family, to see the real local life. Overnight at Lhasa.
Day 05 Depart Lhasa(B)
Transfer to airport or railway station for your next destination.
