Question:Are there trains from Zhengzhou to Lhasa? We are planning take a train to Tibet from Zhengzhou after visiting Shaolin Temple. We are a group of 6 students, and hard berth on the train is OK for us. Please advise.

Answer:There’s no train starting from Zhengzhou to Lhasa. You can take a train to Xian first and then shift to the Tibet train there. But the ticket for Qinghai Tibet railway is very hard to get, especially the sleeping berth. So you have to book inadvance. Please view our Tibet Train Timetable and Ticket Fares for more details.

Question:If we use the Tibet train, is the train ticket price already include meals during the train trip? How many passenger in one compartment (soft sleeper)? How far is the train station to Lhasa downtown?

Answer:Tibet train ticket fare dosen’t include meals. There are 4 berth in one compartment for the soft sleeper on the train. It takes around 20 minutes drive from train station to Lhasa downtown.
